A special walk along the beach for Merry & Maya
I met Merry and her beautiful old girl Maya down on Logan's Beach on what had to be the muggiest day of the year. The kind of day where you're sweating just by existing, without having begun any beach activities.

It wasn't a surprise to see everyone else had the same idea, make a beeline for the beach on what could be one of the last nice days of the year. The beach and carpark were full of surfers, humans, and their dogs, all making the most of the warmth. Once we got down onto the sand, we found our own little pocket of calm.
Merry and Maya don't get down to Logan's as much these days, Maya struggles with the stairs and as it turns out, my knees aren't what they used to be either.
Once we hit the beach, we could see the sea mist had started rolling in, adding another layer of thickness to the air and casting a soft glow along the beach. Upon first glance, you'd think you were looking at a scene out of heaven or a fairytale. A girl and her dog enjoying a walk along the shore on a Wednesday afternoon, blanketed by a soft haze is all you can really ask for as a photographer. The lighting was amazing.

This session was a special one. Merry & Maya are moving away, and Merry wanted to capture some time spent with Maya at one of their favourite spots along the coastline. Logan's has meant a lot to them during their time in Warrnambool, and I could tell it meant a lot to them to be here together on such a beautiful evening too.
We kept the session very relaxed - lots of treats, a little bit of wandering and no pressure in the slightest. Maya took her time, there was no jogging on the beach for her this trip - of which I was very grateful. She stayed close to Merry, dipping in and out of the waves as they made their way down the beach towards the softest sunset.
