the little voices, and the cheeky personalities.
Family life is messy and loud and emotional and funny and exhausting
and beautiful all at the same time.
All those tiny little things somehow become the big things you miss most later on.
The Family Session
You know those formal family portraits where everyone looks downright miserable? The ones where you know the kids have been bribed and threatened and begged to smile and sit still and god forbid, "act normal" for 20 minutes?
Well, I don't want those sorts of photos and to be honest with you,
I don't think you do either. They do have a place and we will get some, but at the core of it all, a family session should be FUN.
I mean it when I say that in 20 years' time when you're looking back through albums, the photos that will bring back the fondest memories are the ones where your kids are being themselves.
You'll see their cheeky grins, their hands and feet covered in sand, and you'll remember that one time at the beach where you all nearly got swallowed by a rogue wave.
But more than that, carving out a bit of time to spend with your kids exploring a new location or collecting shells or going on an adventure down a dirt road... unless you're a super parent and have it all figured out (no shade, they are out there), spending quality time with your kids sometimes becomes another task you struggle to schedule into your busy week.
The best photos become time machines but the best sessions become core memories for you as a family and most importantly, for your kids.
