The Maternity Session
When your body feels unfamiliar and constantly in a state of change, stepping into a tulle gown on a deserted beach at the edge of town on dusk may seem like a hard pass.
Virtually anything at this point on your journey to motherhood may seem overwhelming and unneccessary unless it's linked to basic survival.
The world focuses on this chapter of your life being centred around the nurturing of your child and the growing of your family, but there's also a huge part of this change that goes unnoticed.
You're learning to appreciate and accept a whole new version of yourself that has never existed before (even if this isn't your first child). That takes a huge toll emotionally.
But hear me when I say that, despite what it feels like right now, this season of life is fleeting. Booking a maternity session is not something you will ever look back on with regret.
The cravings and the things you ate though?
There'll be definite regret there.
The ideal time for a maternity session is between 30–34 weeks.
By then, your belly is quite visible while you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to move around without your new centre of gravity causing too much trouble.
By this point, you may not have any flattering
pieces in your wardrobe either, and that's okay.
I have collection of gowns available to suit all bumps.
